MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2025

7-13 April 2025

Officina della Scala Milan

Invito Milano Design Week 2025

During Milan Design Week 2025, the Officina della Scala hosted an exhibition dedicated to Giuseppe Locati, artist, philosopher and engineer from Brianza, in dialogue with the creations of Giorgio Pozzi.

An exhibition that did not merely display, but brought matter and thought into dialogue: marble, steel, iron, brass, wood and colour, set in relation with a profound vision of existence, where art, philosophy and science intertwine without hierarchies.

The space, ideal for hosting a cultural project of this kind, gathered over 350 guests, including prominent figures such as Dr. Paolo Berlusconi, the Honourable Fabrizio Sala and Massimiliano Longo, former Councillor for Culture of Monza. The evening was enhanced by a convivial moment curated by the Michelin-starred chef Mauro Elli.

Rossana Locati, the artist's daughter and president of the Cultural Association dedicated to him, recalled how fundamental the interdisciplinarity of the sciences was for Giuseppe Locati, the meeting of art, technique and thought. In this sense, the initiative integrated perfectly with the spirit of the Officina della Scala, which has always been attentive to the relationship between craftsmanship and innovation.

This exhibition represents a further step in the work of the Associazione Culturale Giuseppe Locati A.P.S., continuing to promote and make accessible the vision and legacy of a man who was able to fuse art, philosophy and science into a single language.

This video, produced by Espansione TV and curated by Elisa Santamaria, tells the story of the day at Officina della Scala dedicated to the works of Giuseppe Locati.
