From 3 to 6 September 2026, on the occasion of the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix in Monza, the Associazione Culturale Giuseppe Locati A.P.S. presents “L’Interconnessione. Monza between art, sport, culture and solidarity”, a charity art exhibition dedicated to the figure and work of the Monza-born engineer and artist Giuseppe Locati. The goal is a concrete one: to support the fundraising campaign for a new mammography unit for San Gerardo Hospital in Monza.

The initiative springs from the desire to bring art, sport, culture and solidarity together in a single project, turning a moment of great international visibility for the city — the Grand Prix — into an opportunity for participation, knowledge and tangible support for the local community. The title, L’Interconnessione, echoes the very hallmark of Giuseppe Locati, “engineer-artist and artist-engineer”, able to weave art, science, philosophy and social commitment into a single unified vision.

Visitors will be able to admire sculptures and works by Giuseppe Locati — including the celebrated “Quasi Cubo” in chromed brass — along an exhibition route, with guided tours and moments of insight devoted to the relationship between art, science and society, in some time slots with an art critic present.

The exhibition will open on Thursday 3 September with an opening evening by invitation: an aperitif, the presentation of the initiative and of its charitable purpose, and a charity auction of a work by Giuseppe Locati, whose proceeds will be donated in full to the cause. Dr Anna Abate, coordinator of the fundraising campaign for the new mammography unit at San Gerardo, is collaborating on the initiative.

The value of the project lies in its connection with a real need of the local community: women’s health, prevention and support for public healthcare. For this reason the minimum admission donation of €5 and all donations will be given in full to the fundraising campaign for the mammography unit.

The Association also wishes to make this initiative an annual appointment, dedicated each year to supporting a charitable cause identified according to the most pressing needs of the city and of the Monza area.

The initiative is promoted with requests for patronage to the Lombardy Region, the Municipality of Monza, the Province of Monza and Brianza, Associazione Volontari di Monza and Lions.
