Art and solidarity for prevention
Funds donated to PerLe Noi OdV for a new mammography unit at IRCCS San Gerardo dei Tintori in Monza. An annual appointment, returning every year on the Grand Prix weekend.
The event
From 3 to 6 September 2026, on the occasion of the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix in Monza, the Associazione Culturale Giuseppe Locati A.P.S. presented “L’Interconnessione. Monza between art, sport, culture and solidarity”, a charity art exhibition dedicated to the figure and work of the Monza-born engineer and artist Giuseppe Locati. An initiative created to bring art, sport, culture and solidarity together in a single project, turning the international visibility of the Grand Prix into tangible support for the local community.
The title, L’Interconnessione, echoes the very hallmark of Giuseppe Locati, “engineer-artist and artist-engineer”, able to weave art, science, philosophy and social commitment into a single unified vision. At the Association’s premises in Monza, visitors admired sculptures and works by the artist — including the celebrated “Quasi Cubo” in chromed brass — along an exhibition route with guided tours and insights curated by art critic Luigi Marsiglia.
The opening evening, by invitation, launched the exhibition with a light dinner buffet, the presentation of the initiative and a charity auction of a work by Giuseppe Locati. The auction and the donations collected during the exhibition were donated in full to PerLe Noi OdV, supporting the purchase of a new-generation mammography unit with CEM-biopsy technology for the Breast Diagnostics department of IRCCS San Gerardo dei Tintori in Monza.
The event was attended by numerous authorities and local representatives, including Federico Romani, President of the Lombardy Regional Council, Regional Councillor Fabrizio Figini and Provincial Councillor Massimiliano Longo, together with the project’s partners and supporters.
The Association has made this initiative an annual appointment, dedicated each year to a charitable cause chosen according to the most pressing needs of the city and the Monza area: L’Interconnessione will return in 2027, once again on the Monza Grand Prix weekend.
