“My works are the handwriting of my thought.”

Giuseppe Locati pursued a continuous, tireless search for the ideal Beauty.

Born in 1939 in Monza, his passion for Art and an inquisitive gaze on the world and on himself emerged early in life. Becoming an engineer-artist and an artist-engineer, he channelled his research into the creation of patents and works of art — aware of the difficulty of grasping the complexity that surrounded him, and of which he was himself a bearer.

“Giuseppe Locati, Parco di Monza.”

A lifetime's work to try to unify rationality and irrationality, matter and soul, up to the encounter with Wittgenstein and the development of an analytical self-critique of the word and of his own thought. Over the decades his sculptures gradually lost matter, until they became atoms, the ultimate constituents of matter, a point of contact with the metaphysical.

“Giuseppe Locati”

The sum of the parts does not represent the whole: the engineer, the artist, the entrepreneur, the writer and the philosopher are not Giuseppe Locati. Words would not describe him fully. To understand him we must look at his sculptures and his industrial patents.

Today the diffusion of his work is entrusted to the Giuseppe Locati Cultural Association, dedicated to him and legally recognised.
